Art installation concept, inspired by Fluid II (Morgan 2009) (Figure 3), "Degradation of Photography" is a large-scale photographic sculptural installation comprising a polyptych assembled from numerous hand-torn squares. The piece is created by exposing a single negative onto a grid of small gelatin silver sheets in one exposure, producing a unified image. These individual prints are suspended from the ceiling in a floating grid, collectively forming a cohesive visual composition. A cascade of squares descends from the central area of the installation in a funnel that spills onto the floor, symbolising pixels. Conceptually, the work combines experimental analogue photographic processes with sculptural installation techniques to examine the decline of traditional photographic craftsmanship and the documentary function of photography within the post-photography era.
