Meta

By applying a meta [1] – or blended – approach to my research, the PhD creative outputs aim to speak back to the other to visually iterate an interconnected narrative. Therefore, it is essential to unpack the significance of this meta approach by situating it within the context of (a) interdisciplinary research, (b) embodied art discourse, and (c) investigating the interdependance of theoretical and practice-led studies. This approach further interweaves with the principles of interdisciplinary research (per MacRae and Matuszewski 2024, 23-65), as a systematic approach that integrates insights from different disciplines to create a more comprehensive understanding of broad or complex questions, problems or topics.

Footnotes

  1. Meta-based research applies “statistical methods on estimates from two or more different studies to form a pooled estimate” (Ahn and Kang 2018, 104).
