In August 2020 I contacted a fashion designer friend of mine to discuss if they would be interested in working on a collaborative project incorporating their design and my photographic prints on textiles. I was working with liquid emulsion on muslin. Although they loved the concept and proposal, their workload was too great.
I have produced enough work (photograms and screen prints on fabric) this semester to revisit the concept with another friend who is a designer and RNIT alumni. It could be a great collaborative project and a means to make use of all the test prints I have made.
Whenever we catch up all we talk about is fashion and music. Our style is very different. Despite this, we also have a lot in common, particularly with designers and periods that inspire and influence us. Yes. I am a fashion nerd. I love it. Magazines, documentaries, designers, and of course clothes.
